Why PDXICons? It’s simple really. If you’re billing, you aren’t selling; and if you’re selling, you aren’t billing! And none of us has a network that is so large, or so generous as to make us all aware of all of the opportunities. But if we create a focal point, that our combined networks can send tips to, we all benefit. And with enough critical mass, employers will come directly too. How many good leads for consulting gigs do you see on PDX Technology LinkedIn group? or even SAO? or the other various forums? You can count them on one hand. Why so few? Because there is no incentive for anyone to make the effort to post to a public group.
Chances are that you are a highly experienced specialist OR you are looking for one. A writer, designer, software developer, trainer, security specialist, management consultant, artist, commercial musician, you name it – and you are absolutely useless at sales and business development.
Member or not, if you know of a contract or consulting opportunity, and would like to make a referral fee from us, send it in.
